Peer Conduct Review Boards
Peer Conduct Review Board (PCRB)
The role of the Peer Conduct Review Board (PCRB)
is to meet with students who are alleged to have been involved in violations
of campus policies, and investigate such complaints. The Board makes
decisions regarding the facts of the incident, determines if a policy was
violated, and if so, recommends appropriate consequences for this behavior.
Each PCRB is made up of four students and a professional staff member who
serves as an advisor to the board. Boards are responsible for hearing common
first and second offense incidents.
Successful candidates for serving on the Peer Conduct Review Board should
have an interest in fairness, building livable communities and assisting
other students in learning from life's mistakes. By serving on the PCRB,
students can build interviewing, communication and decision making skills.
There are three boards that meet for two hours each week. Meeting times are
based on the availability of student schedules, normally during the day or
early evening hours. Service on the board is considered a volunteer
position, but members are given a $100 stipend for each semester of service.
Students with the following majors would find serving on the PCRB to be a
useful way to connect their learning to real life situations: Pre-Law,
Social Change and Development, Social Work, Psychology, Human Development,
or Education.
