| Essential Job Functions: | Will teach foundation courses in the Collaborative MSW and BSW programs and in the areas of advanced practice with families, administration or policy. Will perform scholarly activities and community service and contribute to the ongoing development of the department. The program has a strong team emphasis which includes team teaching, offers a competency-based education with a strengths perspective, and takes a proactive stance valuing diverse and minority perspectives. |
| Qualifications: | Required: Either A: Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited university, at least two years of post-BSW or-MSW social work practice experience, and earned doctorate in Social Work or related field. Will consider ABD candidates with the expectation that the degree is completed by the end of the first year contract period. OR B: Experienced social work practitioner with at least ten years post MSW experience and evidence of actively pursuing a doctorate in social work or related field with the expectation that the degree will be completed within three years after the starting date of the appointment. The successful candidate must have demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching, scholarship, and commitment to undergraduate education, and have communication and interpersonal skills sufficient to work effectively with a diverse array of students and colleagues. Preferred: Higher education teaching experience. |

| Conditions of Appointment: | Position is an academic year tenure-track appointment. Applicants must be considered for tenure and promotion in six years although tenure decisions may be at any time. Promotion from Assistant to Associate Professor is simultaneous with tenure. Excellence in teaching, sustained scholarly activity and institutional service required for retention and promotion. Official transcripts of the highest degree achieved will be required of finalist(s). A criminal conviction investigation will be conducted on the finalist(s).
