Essential Job Functions: Teach THEATRE 338 Scene Shop Practicum each semester, teach THEATRE 221 Stagecraft lab (fall) supervise students, serve as lead carpenter for theatrical productions, serve as technical assistant for all Music Discipline events in the WCPA, provide technical direction for all Music Discipline events in the University Theatre, and provide facility maintenance and address safety issues for the UT and scene shop.
Qualifications: Required: Bachelor’s degree in Theatre with an emphasis in technical theatre, ability to teach Scene Shop Practicum and Stagecraft lab, demonstrated concern for safety practices and procedures, expert carpentry skills including operation of power tools, familiarity with needs and operation of music concerts, communication and interpersonal skills sufficient to work effectively with a diverse array of students, faculty, and staff.

Preferred: Experience working with theatrical productions and classical music concerts. B.F.A. or Masters degree in technical theatre and proficiency in computer aided drafting.
Starting Date: August 23, 2010
Conditions of Appointment: This is a full-time appointment September through May and approximately a 33% appointment during the months of June, July and August. Official transcripts of the highest degree achieved will be required of finalist(s). A criminal conviction investigation will be conducted on the finalist(s).
Special Conditions of Appointment: Evenings and weekend work is expected. Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 75 pounds. Must be able to stand, sit, and walk for extended periods of time. Provides technical support to summer music camps.
