Welcome! We're glad to have you join the The University of Wisconsin-Green Bay offers an excellent work environment—you are joining faculty and staff who enjoy coming in to work and love what they do. The Human Resources website features information and resources to help you learn about UWGB and the Green Bay area. Mentor Program (Faculty & Academic Staff) Academic Staff Mentor ProgramFaculty Mentor Program Guide New faculty and staff have a wonderful resource available to them as they begin tackling the intricacies of their new positions and the University. Some of you have the added challenge of adjusting to a new city. Mentors, or "University buddies," can help you steer your way through what may seem at times like chaos. After arriving on campus you will be contacted by a member of the faculty or academic staff who will familiarize you with the mentor program and connect you with a mentor. If you do not hear from someone within your first couple of weeks on campus, contact the Office of Human Resources for information. Campus Connection Program (Classified Staff) The goal of the Campus Connection Program is to foster a cooperative network among classified staff, as well as to cultivate a sense of community on campus. The program benefits new employees by giving them a friendly resource. In return, existing employees have the opportunity to share their experiences and knowledge. All new classified employees are matched with another classified employee to be his or her “Campus Resource Person.” This person will contact the new employee periodically during his or her first few weeks, offer a tour of the campus, invite the new employee to a CSAC (Classified Staff Advisory Council) meeting, and take the new employee to lunch (Sodexho and the Provost’s Office have generously agreed to pay for the lunches!). If you would like to participate in this program, or would like more information, please contact Human Resources at ext. 2390 or hr@uwgb.edu. |
