Students, staff and community members enjoy many traditions including cultural events such as Pow Wow, Kwanza, and international food festivals, fall convocation, spring fling, and academic receptions.
Also available are the Kress Events Center facilities and programs, The Phoenix Bookstore, on-campus banking, and the communiversity park located on the bay of Green Bay.
Community
Green Bay is Wisconsin's third largest city (102,767 - 2000 Census). Top employers include manufacturing (particularly paper products, equipment for the paper industry, metal fabricating, and food products), services (particularly health care and insurance), transportation, tourism, and retailing. Green Bay hosts a foreign seaport and is also home to three-time NFL Super Bowl champions - the Green Bay Packers.The area boasts a well-maintained park system, good public library system, public museums, wildlife sanctuary within the city, zoo, state historic park, and botanical garden. Green Bay and nearby communities have excellent schools. Green Bay is also the gateway to two areas of the state known for their natural beauty: the Door County peninsula and the "northwoods" country.
