Professional Development Opportunities
Faculty and Staff employed by the University are eligible to receive 75% of their courses reimbursed for career related coursework up to $500 per academic year. This amount applies to courses enrolled in on our campus as well as any other Higher Education Institution. For information on how to apply and what the reimbursement maximums are, please contact the Human Resources Office at 465-2390. This amount applies to courses enrolled in on our campus, the technical college system, or private college or university if a UW or technical college course need is not available.

The Academic Staff Professional Development Allocations Committee allocates funds for professional development opportunities in response to requests made by Academic Staff for such things as travel to symposia or professional meetings.

The Instructional Development Council's mission is to improve the art of teaching by recognizing outstanding teachers, awarding grants to support faculty travel to training programs, to provide some financial support to faculty who wish to enhance their courses, and to sponsor conferences and short meetings. Classified Staff Advisory Council was formed to promote on-going education and professionalism among administrative support staff. One of their responsibilities is to allocate funds for external seminars or conferences.
