Employee Classifications

University Staff

Employees in the university workforce who contribute in a broad array of positions in support of the University’s mission and are not exempt (hourly) from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).

Faculty, Academic Staff and Limited

Employees who are engaged in teaching, university administration, and/or professional services related to instruction and research which include permanent and short-term executives, deans and directors, faculty, academic staff, and student assistants.

University Staff Temporary

Formerly referred to as Limited Term Employees (LTE).

These positions are appointed for up to 1,040 hours within a twelve-month period. The need for the position/duties is temporary in nature.


New Employees

Employees who are current students. These positions are part-time, may be Federal Work Study positions, both on and off campus, regular student employment on-campus, and off-campus jobs with private employers.
