FMLA Information Session for Supervisors
Thursday, February 28, 2008 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. IS 1034

This program is designed to provide supervisors with a basic understanding of the Family and Medical Leave Act of 1993 (FMLA). A 30 minute DVD presentation will be provided, illustrating scenarios commonly encountered by supervisors, followed by a Q&A session. As a result of this program, you will have a better understanding of qualifying reasons for FMLA, eligibility requirements, and the length of leave an employee is allowed to take. In addition, we will inform you of the recent expansion of the FMLA, which provides for additional FMLA leave for military families under certain circumstances. This is the first expansion of the FMLA since its enactment 15 years ago. You do not need to pre-register for this program-please just mark your calendar to attend!

This program is part of a yearlong series of free training/professional development offerings for UW-Green Bay faculty and staff. The next program (in March) will be "Hiring Practices" presented by Human Resources. If you have any questions, please contact Human Resources at ext. 2390.
