Essential Job Functions:

The Director of Compliance and Support Services reports to the Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance and Student-Athlete Welfare and assists with coordination of daily operations of a Division I athletics department.

This position includes the following responsibilities:

  • Assist with monitoring and enforcing NCAA, Horizon League, and institutional rules and regulations under which the Department of Athletics operates.
  • In collaboration with the Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance and Student-Athlete Welfare, provide NCAA and Horizon League rules education, rules interpretation, and legislative updates to coaches, staff, student-athletes, and appropriate university personnel on a regular basis.
  • Prepare and submit NCAA reporting forms (APR, Sports Sponsorship, etc.).
  • Assist institutional Researcher in completion of Graduation Success Rate.
  • Advise Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and coordinate programming that assists in the professional and personal development of student-athletes.
  • Review and submit all NCAA waivers and reinstatement requests to respective NCAA or Horizon League parties.
  • Prepare eligibility, certification and financial aid reports as required by Horizon League, NCAA as well as any other reports requested by the Director of Athletics.
  • Assist the Assistant AD in managing student-athlete exit interviews, scholarship nominations, coaching seminars, and staff professional development.
  • Oversee the National Letter of Intent program.
  • Maintain department staff compliance handbook and the student-athlete handbook.
  • Supervise compliance intern when applicable.
  • Serve as primary academic advisor for selected sports.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics and Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance and Student-Athlete Welfare.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree at time of application
  • 2 years of professional experience in NCAA compliance and student support services

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters degree
  • Professional experience in Division 1 NCAA compliance
  • Experience in sport supervision
  • Working knowledge of progress toward degree and initial continuing eligibility certification

Position is a full-time academic staff appointment.  Official transcripts of the highest degree achieved will be required of finalist(s). A criminal conviction investigation will be conducted on the finalist(s). Special Conditions of Appointment: Position will require work on nights and weekends throughout the year in order to meet the needs of the Athletics Department. Must be authorized to drive in accordance with the requirements of the State of Wisconsin.
