| Essential Job Functions: | Will teach foundation courses in the Collaborative MSW and BSW programs and in the areas of advanced practice with families, administration or policy. Will perform scholarly activities and community service and contribute to the ongoing development of the department. The program has a strong team emphasis which includes team teaching, offers a competency-based education with a strengths perspective, and takes a proactive stance valuing diverse and minority perspectives. The University is located in a rapidly diversifying community in close proximity to three reservations. Faculty have many opportunities to interact with these communities. |
| Qualifications: | Required: Master's degree in Social Work and at least two years of post-BSW or-MSW social work practice experience is required. Earned doctorate in Social Work or related field from an accredited institution must be completed by August 6, 2010. The successful candidate must have demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching in scholarship, commitment to undergraduate education, and communication and interpersonal skills sufficient to work effectively with a diverse array of students and colleagues. Preferred: Earned doctorate in Social Work or related field by the beginning date of the appointment, higher education teaching experience, and two years post-MSW social work practice experience are preferred. |

| Conditions of Appointment: | Position is an academic year tenure-track appointment. The UW System provides an excellent benefits package including participation in a state retirement plan. Applicants must be considered for tenure and promotion in six years although tenure decisions may be at any time. Promotion from Assistant to Associate Professor is simultaneous with tenure. Excellence in teaching, sustained scholarly activity and institutional service required for retention and promotion. Official transcripts of the highest degree achieved will be required of finalist(s). A criminal conviction investigation will be conducted on the finalist(s).
