Essential Job Functions:

The Austin E. Cofrin School of Business seeks an individual to enhance its outstanding undergraduate accounting program. The individual will assume a key faculty leadership position in the Cofrin School as it pursues AACSB accreditation. The qualified candidate will value teaching, have a high energy level, be able to operate effectively in a participatory, collegial environment, and have an interest in mentoring colleagues. This position will serve as the Austin E. Cofrin Endowed Chair in Business.  The position of Associate or Full Professor of Accounting will include the following responsibilities:

  • Teach up to three Accounting courses each semester at the undergraduate level, primarily in financial accounting. 
  • Perform scholarly activities consistent with rank.
  • Advise students, perform institutional service, and contribute to the ongoing programmatic development of the department.
Qualifications:

Required:

  • An earned doctorate in accounting, or related area, from an AACSB accredited business program at time of application
  • An ongoing record of scholarship, including peer-reviewed journal publications in high quality journals
  • Evidence of quality teaching
  • Evidence of engagement in service endeavors

Preferred:

  • Demonstrated interest in accounting education practices and scholarship
  • Record of partnering with accounting or business practitioners
  • CPA

Conditions of Appointment:

Position is a nine-month, academic year appointment and tenure is negotiable, subject to the rules of the faculty and the University of Wisconsin Board of Regents.  Excellence in teaching, sustained scholarly activity and institutional service required for retention and promotion.  Official transcripts of all post-secondary work will be required of finalist(s).  A criminal conviction investigation will be conducted on the finalist(s). Salary:
