Essential Job Functions:

The mission of the Professional Program in Nursing is to provide high quality, student-centered nursing education that builds on prior experience, knowledge and skills of registered nurses. Students are prepared to think critically and address complex health issues in a multicultural and evolving world. 

The Lecturer position will teach undergraduate and graduate nursing courses (dependent upon credentials), and undergraduate courses in the Health Information Management & Technology (HIMT) program. 

The position of Lecturer will include the following responsibilities:

  • Teach 27 credits of undergraduate nursing courses delivered face-to-face and/or online.
  • Advise students.
  • Work with educational technologies necessary for online teaching.
  • Contribute to the ongoing programmatic development of the department.
  • Demonstrate knowledge, values, and skills in nursing in an understandable and applied manner. 
  • Work effectively with a diverse array of students and colleagues.
Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Graduate degree in nursing (Master of Science in Nursing or higher degree) from an accredited institution required by start date
  • Current RN licensure in Wisconsin or ability to be licensed in Wisconsin by start date
  • Expertise in informatics and/or management
  • Demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Interpersonal skills sufficient to work effectively with a diverse array of student and colleagues

Conditions of Appointment:

Position is a 9-month, full-time academic staff appointment. Official transcripts of the highest degree achieved will be required of finalist(s). A criminal conviction investigation will be conducted on the finalist(s). Special Conditions of Appointment: Teaching may involve late afternoons, evenings and/or travel to off campus sites.
Salary:
