The Area Coordinator position assists in carrying out the mission and philosophy of the Office of Residence Life. The Office of Residence Life provides housing for 2,100 students during the academic year and 2,500 guests during the summer. The Area Coordinator (AC) is responsible for overseeing a community of approximately 400 residents; and with the help of Resident Assistants (RAs), strives to develop and maintain a safe, enjoyable, supportive and inclusive living environment for residents where they can achieve academic success and personal growth and development. The Area Coordinator is a member of the Residence Life team and holds administrative responsibilities, participates in committees and meetings, and serves students in a multitude of ways. This position reports to the Assistant Director, and assumes additional responsibilities assigned by and makes recommendations to the Director.
The successful candidate will have strong oral, written, and organizational skills, the ability to communicate with a diverse population, and the willingness to be part of a collaborative team. |Conditions of Appointment:||
Position is a full-time academic staff appointment. Official transcripts of the highest degree achieved will be required of finalist(s). A criminal conviction investigation will be conducted on the finalist(s). |Special Conditions of Appointment:||This position requires on-campus residency and compliance with on-campus rules and regulations. Requires a varying schedule and workload over 40 hours per week including on-duty responsibilities (on a rotating basis) during the evenings, weekends and holidays. Occasional training, meetings and programmatic responsibilities on weekends, especially at crucial times of the year should be expected. This position includes occasional travel required for student development, leadership development, and professional responsibilities and development.|
