Essential Job Functions

This position reports to the Assistant Director of Admissions and will implement a comprehensive recruitment plan designed to enrich the campus community by attracting and enrolling a diverse student body.  Responsibilities of this position include recruiting students and providing support for prospects as they progress through the admissions process. Advise on academic planning, programs, requirements, and campus resources.  Coordinate and attend recruitment events to increase brand awareness and to build a diverse recruitment pipeline.  Assist in identifying, communicating, and implementing vital recruitment strategies targeting diverse populations, in an effort to enhance and grow the University’s student body.  Recruit and serve within the designated territory.  Work to enhance UW-Green Bay’s recruitment efforts and create an environment that acknowledges, encourages, and celebrates those with diverse identities, beliefs and cultural backgrounds. The Admissions Advisor is assigned to the Marinette/Upper Michigan Territory and will be recruiting for the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay’s four campuses with special focus on the Marinette and Main campuses.

This position includes the following responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and implement a personalized recruitment program based on the designated territory.
  • Counsel prospective students by providing timely and accurate information about application and admission procedures, degree options, general education and major requirements, and student resources on campus.
  • Positively represent UW-Green Bay to a variety of constituents, including prospective students and their families, secondary and post-secondary personnel, community-based organizations, and other individuals or organizations involved in the college selection process.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive recruitment strategies to increase the number of students from underrepresented racial/ethnic/first-generation backgrounds who apply and enroll at UW-Green Bay.
  • Connect prospective and admitted students with key campus and community resources, such as the multiethnic student affairs office, financial aid, residence life, student life, academic departments, and external resources when appropriate.
  • Lead, create, and implement outreach programs including communication plans, targeted outreach to high schools, school district liaisons, and community-based organizations.
  • Recruit students through participation in education fairs, school visits, college visits, community, and corporate recruitment activities.
  • Cultivate partnerships within designated territory by seeking out opportunities to build and enhance awareness about all UW-Green Bay opportunities, in turn, fostering a recruitment pipeline to the university.
  • Use data, research, and trends to strategically recruit diverse students within the designated territory.
  • Research best practices and model programs of multicultural recruitment and retention to facilitate and implement ongoing improvements to the services provided.
  • Strategically use the CRM system to organize and facilitate recruitment efforts, tracking all communications and recruitment activities.
  • Utilize the CRM to make data-driven decisions in an effort build, implement, and enhance the evolving recruitment plan.
  • Participate in admissions-focused work groups and teams.
  • Serve on campus and community-based committees that focus on recruiting and retaining a diverse student body.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree at time of application
  • 2 years of professional experience in recruitment and/or sales


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's degree
  • 2 years working in a college recruitment/admissions and/or student affairs setting
  • Experience with CRM and student information systems

Conditions of Appointment


Position is a full-time Academic Staff appointment.  Official transcripts of the highest degree achieved will be required of finalist(s). A criminal conviction investigation will be conducted on the finalist(s). Salary

Salary range of $36,790 - $44,000

This position is exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
