Position Information

Working Title: Dietetic Internship Director
UW System Official Title: Instructional Program Manager II

Essential Job Functions

This position reports to the Department Chair of the Human Biology department and is responsible for the overall management, including day-to-day implementation of the dietetic internship program. The program director leads the assessment, planning, and evaluation of the dietetic internship to meet the requirements set by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition & Dietetics (ACEND) of the Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics. In addition, this position will teach one course per academic year for the Human Biology department.

This position includes the following responsibilities:

  • Develop dietetic internship policies.
  • Manage student recruitment, advisement, evaluation, and counseling.
  • Maintain program accreditation records.
  • Maintain student records and issue of verification statements.
  • Manage complaints.
  • Develop curriculum.
  • Coordinate program communication.
  • Assess program goals and student learning outcomes.
  • Represent department and institution.
  • Plan and implement dietetic internship courses.

Qualifications

Conditions of Appointment

This position will also include summer work based on programmatic need. The physical ability to tolerate moderate walking, standing, stair climbing, and driving distances as long as three hours is also required.

Position is a full-time Academic Staff appointment. Official transcripts of the highest degree achieved will be required of finalist(s). A criminal conviction investigation will be conducted on the finalist(s). Salary

Competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience

This position is exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
