Internships

Why wait until after you graduate to gain experience in the professional field of your choice when you can do that now while earning academic credit in an Humanistic Studies internship?

General Description: Student working on a laptop
Humanistic Studies internships are available during Fall, Spring and Summer terms in a variety of areas, such as community action, research, teaching, translation, management, writing, and business. Internships in other areas may also be created to suit your individual interests.   Students with majors and/or minors in a variety of humanities fields, (including American Indian Studies, English, English as a Second Language, French, German, History, Humanistic Studies, Philosophy, and Spanish) typically enroll in these internships, which take place in museums, schools, government offices, archives, non-profit organizations and businesses in the greater Green Bay area and in northeast Wisconsin. For the most part, these internships are unpaid, but interns acquire first hand knowledge of careers and obtain valuable experience, skills and contacts in a variety of interesting fields, all of which can improve your future employment prospects. Interns receive a grade and in most cases 3 credits for each internship and can register for more than one internship before graduation.
