Faculty and
Teaching Academic Staff:
UW System is
pleased to announce the 2007-08 competition for two research
grant programs: Applied Research Grants and a new grant
opportunity, the ARG-WiTAG. Through the Applied Research
Grant program, it is anticipated that approximately $425,000
will be awarded to UW System faculty and/or academic staff from
any UW institution for projects of no more than one year’s
duration that address issues that would have a demonstrable
impact on the state's economy. The new ARG-WiTAG program
is funded through a $1,000,000 gift from the Wisconsin Alumni
Research Foundation (WARF) to WiSys to advance research and
development at UW System campuses. The ARG-WiTAG program is
open to faculty and academic staff in science and technology
fields for longer-term research (up to three years) to develop
high-value intellectual property and/or marketable products,
while laying the foundation for future extramural funding.
ARG-WiTAG is not available for Madison campus PIs; however,
Madison campus faculty may collaborate on ARG-WiTAG grant
proposals submitted by other campuses.
