History
Alain Nonat created this event in Montreal in 1991 during the 150th celebration of Antonin Dvorak's birth. The Honorary President was M. Vaclav Havel, President of the Czech Republic and the president of the event M. Karel Velan President of Velan Inc and honorary cochairman of the Montreal Antonin Dvorak Fund. In May 2002, Mr. Nonat invited collaboration with Sarah Meredith, University of Wisconsin - Green Bay, making this event the first American site.
Objectives
The principle objective of this event is to promote the Czech and Slovak vocal repertoire for young singers. The second objective is to create exchanges of young musicians and specialists between North America and the Czech Republic, as well as Slovakia.

The Jury
Members of the jury will come from Canada, United States, Czech Republic and Slovakia. The final will be presided by a European opera director, name will be announced in October.
