Brochure for The Hague, Netherlands (pdf)
Den Haag is the seat of the Dutch central government and is where the Queen has her residence. Many international organizations have their base in the city. It is also the house of the International Court of Justice. The city has a population of a half-million residents. It is centrally located, which allows for inexpensive and easy travel to other Dutch cities and the rest of Europe. Den Haag is a multi-cultural city: home to people from all over the world. The city offers top rate cultural and recreational opportunities, such as the world famous "Nederlands Dans Theater" and "Scheveningen", a near-by beach with a boardwalk and favorite student hang-out. The Netherlands is one of the world's most prosperous countries with a highly developed educational system. It is the hub of Europe, located on the North Sea. Students studying in The Hague will be immersed in Dutch culture.
The Hague School for European Studies (HEBO)
The University has 14,000 students, of which 1,400 are HEBO students. HEBO is a branch of the The Hague University. A large proportion of the students and faculty are native to a country other than the Netherlands, giving HEBO a truly international academic and social perspective. "By its very nature, the college is internationally oriented." The college is committed to a policy according to which all of its students must spend one semester studying abroad. This means every year, HEBO sends approximately 300 students abroad. When these students return to HEBO, they enrich their classes and classmates by sharing an international perspective on global issues. For more information on the school visit their website at: http://www.hhs.nl/
