Notes: Only students taking regular on-campus courses are counted;
extension, remedial, study abroad, high school and agency funded enrollments are excluded.
Extended Degree students are tallied in the lower table; they are included
in the upper table only if they
are also taking regular courses on campus. The tuition estimates incorporate information
about the students' residencies and credit loads. Projections are
based on last years trends.
|
Total enrollments continue to run
slightly ahead of last year in both heads (up 41, or 0.9%) and FTEs
(up 55, or 1.3%). The increase is coming almost entirely from continuing
undergraduates, which are up 138 FTE, or 4.8%.
|
|
A few facts about the currently
registered Fall 2001 class of new freshmen include the
following: |
|
53% of the Fall 2001 new freshmen
graduated in the upper quarter of their HS class (up from 48% last
year). |
|
High schools sending the most students
to UW-Green Bay this fall include Preble (sending 44 students),
Pulaski (sending 20 students), Bay Port (sending 18 students),
Green Bay Southwest (sending 16 students) and Green Bay East
(sending 14 students). |
|
70.5% of the Fall 2001 new freshmen
registered so far are female. The Fall 2000 class was 68.6%
female. |
|
3.8% of the Fall 2001 new freshmen
registered so far are minorities. The Fall 2000 class was
5.1% minority. |
|
As summer progresses, we will be
tracking our registrations against two targets:
|
Total Fall FTE target
(including the Extended Degree Program)
4357 FTE
There appears to be very little chance that UW-Green Bay will
fail to achieve our FTE target. How much we exceed the
target will depend on enrollment management decisions made
over the course of the summer, especially in regard to
transfer student admission deadlines.

|
Fall Tuition Revenue
Target
unconfirmed at this time. We have proposed a target
of approximately $7.1 million. Current revenue billed
is slightly higher than last year at this time -- by about
0.9% -- reflecting the slight increase in enrollment to
date. Our current revenue figure of $6.7 million
is about $390,000 short of the proposed target.
Last year, tuition revenues increased approximately 8%
after this point in time. If tuition revenues increase
in a similar fashion this year, we will reach the target
and could have a tuition revenue surplus from the fall.
|
|
|
EDP has currently enrolled 250 students
(37 of whom are also taking
regular campus courses) and 105 FTE that will be
counted in the Fall 2001 campus totals. This compares with 239 students
and 99 FTE last year.
|
|
We appear to be heading for a second year of improvements in the
retention of new freshmen and of second-year students. Retention
rates for those cohorts may be as much as 3-4% higher than the
prior year. Official retention rates will not be available until Fall.
