NIA Dance Group
The Nia African & African-American Drummers and Dancers is a UW-Green Bay & community-based group, founded in 2002 by Mrs. Juliet E. Cole of UW-Green Bay to promote an appreciation of diversity through the practice and performance of African-style dancing and drumming. The drummers are the core of the group; for, it is through them that the dancers are able to tell a story to the audience.

There are no fees for the members; donations and honorariums are used for such purposes as providing authentic clothing, equipment, and workshops for dedicated Nia participants. Practices are on Mondays from 7 to 8 p.m., typically at the UW-Green Bay Union building in the fall and winter, and in UW-GB's dance studio or in local parks during the summer months. Performances are scheduled throughout the year upon request. Anyone is welcome to join Nia at any time during the year. Please contact us in advance for exact locations.
