Richard Schaal |
|
Richard Schaal, is the new director of the Institute for Learning Partnership, succeeding the interim director, John Crubaugh. Schaal initially served as the Institute’s PDC coordinator for four years. He brings 30 years of experience as a school administrator, instructional and staff development training skills to the position, as well as a passion for improving student learning. He was previously the principal of Red Smith and Baird Elementary schools in Green Bay and remains connected with these schools as a guest speaker and mentor. He holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from UW-Steven’s Point, a master’s degree in special education from UW-Whitewater, two administrative certificates from UW-Milwaukee and UW-Madison and an additional certificate in special education from UW-Oshkosh. |

Juliet Cole |
|
Juliet Cole is the Associate Director of the Institute for Learning Partnership. She is responsible for the Institute’s planning and management of publications, conferences, public forums and diversity programs, and establishing and maintaining contact with local schools and communities. She is active in the Green Bay community, especially in roles designated to improve diversity and minority student achievement. She is involved in Green Bay and Fox Cities area committees and organizations, including, Leadership Green Bay, the Green Bay Area Public School Diversity and Minority Achievement Committees. She serves as a supervisor for various school mentoring programs and provides diversity training for teachers and staff in Green Bay and East De Pere schools. She was a co-chair for the Educational Achievement Task Force for the Lieutenant Governor’s initiative, Wisconsin Women = Prosperity. She was a delegate on the committee that received “All-America City” designation. Cole holds a bachelor’s degree in social change and development and a master’s degree in cross-cultural counseling from UW-Green Bay. In addition, she holds a management diploma from Cambridge, England. She has experience in student services, program administration, advising, counseling and teaching and international experience while working professionally in Nigeria and the Middle East. |

Lisa Salentine |

Lisa Salentine serves as the lead program assistant providing administrative and secretarial support for the Institute’s staff and partners. Her organizational skills and eye for detail are critical to the daily operation of the Institute. She has previously worked at the Phoenix Bookstore and Residence Life. |

Kimberly Desotell |
|
Kimberly Desotell is the Coordinator of the PDC program and also the Director of the Phuture Phoenix Program. She brings 12 years of classroom teaching experience with her as well as six years experience as a middle school principal in the Milwaukee area. Her educational interests include leadership, teacher development, and technology. In addition, forging relationships between K-12 schools and higher education is a priority in her work in both roles. In addition to her role as the director of the Phuture Phoenix program, Desotell is responsible for the educational aspects of the program and teaches the Phuture Phoenix course, which is an entry requirement for UWGB's pre-service students. Desotell holds a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Saint Mary’s College, Notre Dame, IN. and a master’s degree in educational leadership from Cardinal Stritch University, Milwaukee. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in administrative leadership and urban education from UW-Milwaukee. |

Patricia Leary |

Patricia Leary is the Program Assistant for the Professional Development Certificate (PDC) Program, providing administrative support for the coordinator and PDC candidates. She has previously worked at Florence Savings Bank in Florence, Massachusetts. |

Stephanie Cataldo Pabich |
|
Stephanie Cataldo Pabich is the associate director of the Phuture Phoenix program, with increased leadership duties which include program management and operations. She supervises the UW-Green Bay Phuture Phoenix fellows who coordinate with the mentors and tutors in the at-risk middle and high schools and she organizes and coordinates the on-campus Phuture Phoenix events, including the annual fifth grade tours that bring 1,200 elementary school students to the UW-Green Bay campus each fall. Pabich served previously as the coordinator of the Phuture Phoenix program for a year and in the Institute’s PDC program for four years. She is committed to promoting the Phuture Phoenix mission of increasing rates of both high school graduation and enrollment in higher education for all Phuture Phoenix students. She holds a bachelor’s degree in history and social change & development from UW-Green Bay and a master’s degree in history from the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana. |

Brenda Beck |

Brenda Beck is the new Program Assistant for the Phuture Phoenix program and will provide administrative support for the director and associate director. She previously worked for the Financial Development office at the Greater Green Bay YMCA and for Catering and Event Services at St. Norbert College. She has a bachelor's degree in mathematics from St. Norbert College, De Pere and a master's degree in business from UW - Oshkosh. |
