Lauren Caruso, student speaker for commencement in December 2012, earned
degrees in Human Biology and Spanish. She plans to pursue a career in pharmacy. -
Professor Greg Aldrete (left), Frankenthal Professor of History and Humanistic
Studies, has been named 2012 Wisconsin Professor of the Year by the Carnegie
Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching and the Council for
Advancement and Support of Education (CASE). -
The decadence and political upheaval of Weimar Berlin took the center stage when
Theatre and Music presented their production of Cabaret at the Weidner Center.
The production featured UWGB students and alumni. -
Professors Heidi Sherman and Alison Gates, along with several students, are
conducting a project reconstructing the process by which flax is grown, processed,
and worked into linen using pre-modern tools and techniques. -
Maggie Cuff, major in Art, presented her work “Interaction of Body, Space, and Food”
at the 11th Academic Excellence Symposium for Research and Creativity.
CLAS affords students opportunities to study with distinguished faculty, participate in research and creative activities, and hold internships within the community. Graduates are prepared to succeed in a rapidly changing world.

Welcome to the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (CLAS) at UW-Green Bay! Our goal is to provide you with a broad liberal arts education that prepares you for your career and life goals upon graduation.
College of Liberal Arts and Sciences will provide you with the vast majority of your general education courses throughout your career. I hope you take some time during your academic career to explore some courses outside your chosen field of study. You might just find a new interest that you will want to pursue.
CLAS offers over 30 major and minor programs. UW-Green Bay believes strongly in the idea of an interdisciplinary problem-focused education, and you will receive such an education regardless of your chosen field of study. We are also the home of a number of research centers and the national honor societies of Phi Eta Sigma (first year national honor society) and Phi Kappa Phi (national academic honor society)
