Federal
- Public Laws contain the text of a law as first passed. They are arranged in chronological order. Free sources of current public laws include GPO Access or the THOMAS legislative service.
- The U.S. Code is a subject arrangement of all laws currently in effect. Free sources of the current version are at GPO Access or the House of Representatives.
- Proposed and newly finalized regulations are in the Federal Register available for free at GPO Access.
- The Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) is a subject arrangement of regulations currently in effect, also available for free at GPO Access.
- Regulations.gov allows the public to comment on new pending federal regulations
