Book Review Assignment

The goal of this assignment is to familiarize you with finding book reviews using Library databases, in particular those that are listed on the Finding Book Reviews guide . Some book reviews can be accessed by using the links on the course syllabus, however, the vast majority of magazines, newspapers, and journals available through subscription Library databases are not available for free on the public Internet.

For each book (the books are listed below) find at least two reviews from one or more of the Library databases (in addition to those you find using the links on the course syllablus and search tools like http://www.google.com and http://www.google.com/scholar) listed on the Finding book reviews guide.

Note that Web of Science is not the best resource to find reviews, but this tool will become a focus of your research later in the course.

YOU WILL NOT FIND REVIEWS OF ALL BOOKS IN ALL LISTED DATABASES, so you may need to try a few before finding a review(s).For each review, record the following information:

Author -- Title of Review -- Title of journal, magazine, or newspaper in which the review appears -- Time of publication (volume and issue if listed and date) -- The online database used to find the review.

Search TIP: When entering your search in the databases you will want to include both the title of the work, and the author's last name (just one last name will suffice if more than one is listed). For example, if you go to Academic Search Premierand type in Plan B and Lester you get a list of 14 entries, many in full text
