Library Access Privileges

UW-Green Bay Students, Faculty and Staff

Upon presentation of a valid I.D., any UW-Green Bay student, faculty or staff member may check-out circulating library materials.  All library services including Interlibrary Loan and Universal Borrowing are available to these patron groups.  Access to Library databases is available both on and off campus. The individual user is responsible for all lost or damaged materials.

UW-System Universal Borrowing privileges  

Any University of Wisconsin or Wisconsin Center student, staff, or faculty member is able to check-out material at the David A. Cofrin Library, and utilize our reference services and databases for no charge.  Users must present a valid UW System I.D.  Most materials circulate for 28 days for students and semester long for faculty. Items may be returned to any UW library for return to David A. Cofrin Library. The user is responsible for lost or damaged material.  Users should consult their home library for Interlibrary Loan services.

NEW ERA Users

NEW ERA (NorthEast Wisconsin Educational Resource Alliance)
Persons 18 years or older residing in Brown, Calumet, Door, Fond du Lac, Kewaunee, Manitowoc, Marinette, Menominee, Oconto, Outagamie, Shawano, or Sheboygan counties can apply for a free NEW ERA borrowers card by presenting a valid Wisconsin picture ID or driver's license at our 3rd floor Circulation Desk. Cards are valid for one year from the application date. After one year cards can be renewed by contacting the Circulation Department. This card allows users to check out up to ten circulating library materials for 28 days with two renewals. As a NEW ERA library users you are able to utilize our reference services and databases while on campus. Full Interlibrary Loan privileges (book and periodicals from any U.S. location) is available for the cost recovery fee of $20.00 per request.  Fee adjustments may be made if costs are substantially higher. The user is responsible for lost or damaged materials.

As a NEW ERA member, you are able to use your card at any of the following NEW ERA member libraries: College of Menominee Nation, Fox Valley Technical College, Lakeshore Technical College, Moraine Park Technical College, Northeast Wisconsin Technical College, University of Wisconsin-Extension, University of Wisconsin-Fond du Lac, University of Wisconsin-Fox Valley, University of Wisconsin-Manitowoc, University of Wisconsin-Marinette, University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, and University of Wisconsin-Sheboygan.

NEWIL Users  

North East Wisconsin Intertype Libraries (NEWIL) is made up of high school, public, private and academic libraries in the Northeast part of Wisconsin.  NEWIL users must present a valid "NEWIL Courtesy Card" prior to obtaining reference or circulation services.  Courtesy Cards are available at the user's local library and cost nothing.  NEWIL Courtesy Cards allow for the one time, 30 day check-out of up to ten items from our library.  The person or issuing NEWIL library is responsible for any lost or damaged material.  Interlibrary Loan services are not available to this patron group.

Community Card Users  

For community members who do not qualify for NEW ERA privileges, a community card can be purchased for $25.00 per year (expiration date is one year from date of purchase). This card allows users to check out up to ten circulating library materials for 28 days with two renewals. Community users are allowed access to the Library's reference service and databases from on campus.  Full Interlibrary Loan privileges (book and periodicals from any U.S. location) is available for the cost recovery fee of $20.00 per request.  Fee adjustments may be made if costs are substantially higher. The user is responsible for lost or damaged materials.
