Library Guides

The Cofrin Library has put together a variety of guides to help you with your research.

Course Instruction Guides:

Have you had library instruction this semester? If the answer is yes, chances are there is an electronic course instruction guide to help you complete your assignments.

General Research Guides:

These guides are a great starting point when you need to select a paper topic, want to know the difference between scholarly and non-scholarly publications and for a variety of other general research needs. In addition, you can also use the Searchpath Library Tutorial for help using library resources.

Guides on the Go:

Once you've selected a paper topic, check Guides on the Go. Here you can create your own research guide to help you find the information you need.

Legal and Government Information Research Guides:

More complex topics like legal research and finding government information require a more in depth research guide. If you are looking for information on case law, the legislative research process or other goverment related information, use one of these subject guides.

Online Database Guides:

Most of the online databases the library subscribes to have excellent help screens to aid with your searching. For a few others we have put together a bit of extra help to guide you.

Citation Guides:

You've done your research, now it's time to cite the sources you used. Here you will find a variety of guides to help with citing sources in your paper and at the end of your paper.
