The Archives Department collects and maintains a non-circulating book collection mainly about the history of Northeastern Wisconsin.

Fort Howard Company Archives

Records, product samples, photographs, video recordings, and artifacts of a prominent Green Bay, Wisconsin paper manufacturer. Fort Howard Company, founded in 1919, was one of the nation's largest producers of disposable paper products such as: toilet paper, paper toweling, napkins, placemats, and wipers.

Documented are Fort Howard's innovations in the use of recycled paper and other environment issues, inventions and patents of paper making and paper folding machines, expansions, acquisitions, mergers, employee activities, and company philanthropy. Biographical information on the Cofrin Family and other company leaders is also present.

The many aerial photographs of the company property document the development of the west side Green Bay from the 1930s-1980s.

Vertical file

This file is the place used to collect and preserve small pieces of valuable information in a variety of formats: pamphlets, news clippings, lists, commemorative booklets, programs, etc.

Town and City Records

The Green Bay Area Center has the records for numerous municipalities within northeastern Wisconsin. Records are held for towns, cities, and villages.
