Campus Publications, Special Collections

The University Archives is the official repository for copies of campus publications. The Archives maintains complete files of current and historical publications. The publications include titles that come out on a frequent basis such as the student newspaper, student directories, enrollment reports, and catalogs. The Archives also has publications distributed on a limited basis such as technology plans for the next century, curriculum studies, and student yearbooks. The Archives also has publications from the academic departments and individual programs on campus. Programs for campus building dedications and groundbreaking ceremonies are available in University Archives.
Historical copies of the University of Wisconsin System Budget (Red Books) are available in University Archives. The collection dates from 1968 to the present. The most recent edition is on Reserves and is available through the Cofrin Library Catalog. These publications may be used to determine salaries for University of Wisconsin employees or to compare budgets that different UW campuses receive for various programs/activities. The volumes contain estimated receipts and disbursements for all UW campuses for the fiscal year (July 1-June 30). Volumes are arranged by each campus name.
