How to logon to D2L

Click on the D2L Logon link: Enter your UWGB username, e.g., spetaj08 for students or spetha for instructors, and your password as described below.

Password for Instructors and Students:

Briefly, an individual's D2L password is the same as their network, campus email on the web, SIS, and library eReserves password. D2L passwords are synchronized with network passwords, i.e., your network password is your D2L password. Changes made to network passwords automatically change the D2L password for the individual.


The only exceptions - and there are very few of them - are usernames for test students or visitors (not students) from off campus.

Known problems:

  1. Passwords cannot contain spaces.
  2. Passwords expire if they are not changed at least every six months. (See the Campus Passwords Standards page. Students are informed via campus email two weeks before a password expires. Students who do not change their network password and do not check their UW-GB email are at risk. Once a password expires the student cannot access campus email, the campus network, the SIS (Student Information System) or D2L until they reset their password. Students can do this through the Student Password Reset link at the bottom of the D2L login page. Students who cannot reset their password using this link should contact the Help Desk at 920-465-2309 (M-F, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, or voice mail) and they will step the student through the process.
  3. If you are not enrolled in any classes, if your classes are over, or if they have not yet begun, then you will not be able to log in to D2L.
