Mr. Brecher joins the faculty after 15 years of performances on the Operatic, Concert, and Broadway stages. He has sung over 50 opera roles with major opera companies in the United States, France, Italy, Canada, Mexico, and England. He has performed 12 roles with the New York City Opera since 1997. Other opera companies include: The Rossini Opera festival in Pesaro Italy, Opera de Nice. Opera de Montreal, Opera Orchestra of New York, Glimmerglass Opera, Berkshire Opera, Santa Fe Opera, Central City Opera, and Opera de Rome. As a concert singer he has sung with over 30 major orchestras in the US and Canada. In 2002, Mr. Brecher premiered an Irish Music concert entitled ‘A Celtic Celebration’ and it has been seen all over the US to rave reviews. On Broadway he has performed: King David, One touch of Venus, Strike up the band; and was heard on two PBS specials from Carnegie Hall; Ira Gershwin at 100 and A Lerner and Lowe Gala.
In 2006 he will sing Don Giovanni in Jacksonville and Naples; Die Zauberflote in Los Angeles and Boston; and sing pops concerts in Buffalo, Baltimore and with the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra with Maestro Erich Kunzel.
