Eric Hansen is the clarinet instructor and an Associate Professor of Music at the University of Wisconsin - Green Bay. He teaches Applied Clarinet, Music Theory, Woodwind Techniques, Woodwind Ensemble, and directs the Phoenix Pep Band. He holds a Master of Music degree in Clarinet Performance from the University of Kentucky where he studied with Dr. Scott Wright, and two Bachelor of Music degrees in Music Education and Music Performance from Arizona State University where he studied with Dr. Robert Spring. Hansen's previous teachers include Dr. Alan LaFave and Marianne Bibbey.

Mr. Hansen, a native of Wyoming, is a dedicated teacher and active performer of solo and chamber music. He is the clarinet instructor at the UW-Green Bay Summer Music Camps, the Yellowstone Summer Music Camp in Wyoming, and has taught at the International Music Camp in North Dakota. He is co-author of the clarinet method book, Extreme Clarinet (published by Potenza Music), which focuses on extended techniques such as multiple articulation, circular breathing, and upper-register tone production.

Mr. Hansen has performed in solo recitals and concert venues across the United States and internationally in Belgium, and has performed live on Wisconsin Public Radio. He performs repertoire ranging from Classical music to Jazz and Klezmer music, to Contemporary music utilizing extended techniques for clarinet. Hansen has been a featured soloist with various bands and ensembles in Wisconsin and was featured with the Yellowstone Jazz Festival Big Band in Wyoming performing music of Artie Shaw. He has performed at the International Double Reed Society Conference with the Triad reed trio and at the International Clarinet Association Conference as a member of the Belgian Claribel Clarinet Choir. Mr. Hansen performs as a member of Gypsy Trip, an acoustic Gypsy Jazz and Klezmer ensemble.
