The festival will be held during the day on February 9, 2012 from 8:00 am – 4:00 pm with area high school jazz bands, vocal jazz ensembles, combos, and middle school bands on the UW-Green Bay campus for master classes and clinics with featured guests and jazz educators.
View Saturday's schedule of events.
All school groups performing during the day will receive written and taped comments, plus an onstage clinic by adjudicators after their performance. Jazz Fest is non-competitive. Groups do not receive a first, second, etc., ranking. However, one jazz ensemble from each of two performing sites is named "outstanding," and these groups will open the afternoon concert at the Weidner Center.
One combo and one vocal jazz ensemble will be chosen from the morning schedule to perform at a mini-concert and two outstanding student performers will be selected to receive full instructional tuition to the UW-Green Bay's Jazz on the Bay Camp featuring Jazz Ensemble and Vocal Jazz.
Jazz Fest blends learning and enjoyment, listening and performing, for all who participate. Students and teachers of jazz are assured of a rich and valuable experience. Please join us for our 42nd annual Jazz Festival.
