A Creative Atmosphere
The University of Wisconsin-Green Bay's campus-wide emphasis is on problem solving and interdisciplinary learning, which means you are encouraged to learn by doing, and to interact with other campus departments and programs as well as community groups throughout your college experience.
Practical Career Options
At UW-Green Bay, an NASM accredited school, you have a choice of degrees including a Bachelor of Music with an emphasis in Music Education (Choral, General or Instrumental), Music Performance, or a Bachelor of Arts in Music which offers a broader liberal arts perspective. Current emphases in the BA include Applied, History and Literature, and Jazz Studies. You'll work with faculty who practice what they preach: engaged musicians and community leaders who perform, compose, teach, research and serve.
You're special at UW-Green Bay! Here you'll get personal attention and instruction from faculty members instead of graduate assistants. Meet Master Musicians
Think the big-name artists only come to big cities? In recent years, students at UW-Green Bay have had the opportunity to perform with jazz greats like Lori Bell, Tom Garling, Dave Holland, Kenny Werner, Sunny Wilkinson, and more; sing for world-famous opera star Simon Estes; and take master classes with guest artists like Erik Gustafson, Gerrod Pagenkopf, Robert Spring, Scott Wright, Michael Yudow, and members of the United States Air Force Band.
Perform On Campus and in the Community
Numerous ensembles offer a diverse range of performance experiences. Groups such as the Hand Drumming Ensemble, Jazz Ensemble, Opera Workshop, Choirs, and Concert Bands and Phoenix Pep Band regularly perform on campus and in the community. Student-led jazz combos perform in local clubs and coffeehouses. UW-Green Bay music students enter and place in prestigious competitions and regional conferences.

Imagine entering the workforce with a resume full of practical experiences: work with respected faculty and guest artists, an internship with a respected art organization, a great student teaching assignment, an impressive list of performances, involvement in campus groups, and more.
