PRESENT RESEARCH ACTIVITIES
Karst processes and geomorphology. Ground water movement and water quality in areas of fractured bedrock. Investigations have included field mapping of karst features and fracture traces, studies of ground water flow, water tracing and contaminant sources and migration.

Stratigraphy and sedimentology of the Paleozoic rocks in eastern Wisconsin. Work has centered on the determination of stratigraphic sequences, conodont biostratigraphy, and sedimentary environments.

Glacial and post-glacial geology and history. Studies have included effects of the Pleistocene ice sheets on Wisconsin and the records of the post-glacial Great Lakes.

Evaluation of conventional and alternative on-site septage treatment systems.

On-site remediation of pesticide contaminated ground water through the use of peat and other organic materials.

Solid waste disposal. Geologic and hydrogeologic properties of sites and the suitability of monitoring efforts.

Ground water contamination and movement. Private landowners, quarries, and attorneys as expert witness.

Peat resources. Private landowners and developers.

ADMINISTRATION
Associate Dean for Graduate Studies and Research
