How long are NEW Partnership trainings?
Unless otherwise indicated all training days begin with registration at 8:30 a.m. with instruction from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. We make every effort to ensure that training occurs as scheduled. We will notify you at the earliest possible time if there is a cancellation.

Is lunch included?
At all trainings that run for more than 4 hours, lunch is provided, in addition there is a morning and afternoon snack. If you would like a vegetarian meal please indicate so on your registration form.

What is the registration fee?
Members of the NEW Partnership, and others that meet the reciprocity requirements, attend NEW Partnership training at a low or nominal fee (per Article 9 of the NEW Partnership By-Laws), currently set at $20 per day. Nonmembers pay the full daily training rate, currently calculated at $120 per day.

How do I know if I pay the Member or Non-Member rate?

Members - Partnership members include the staff who provide child welfare services in the 26 county departments of social/human services within the boundaries of the NEW Partnership region; the Social Work Professional Program at UW-Green Bay and the Collaborative MSW Program at UW-Green Bay and UW-Oshkosh; and the Northern and Northeastern Regional Offices of DHS, as defined in Article 2 of the NEW Partnership By-Laws.

Reciprocity - Members of one of the other four training partnerships in Wisconsin (Western Wisconsin, Southern, Milwaukee, and Intertribal) as well as employees of DCF are granted reciprocity and pay the NEW Partnership daily member rate to attend training. (Reciprocity is defined in Article 9 of the NEW Partnership By-Laws.)

Non-members - All other individuals who attend NEW Partnership training are considered nonmembers and pay the daily non-membership training rate.

What if I need to cancel?
Call Liz Hessler (920-465-2724) to Cancel your registration as soon as possible.

Registrants, registered for a training session offered by NEW Partnership, who wish to no longer attend the session for which they are registered must cancel more than five (5) working days prior to the first day of the training in order to avoid fiscal penalties. Registrants who cancel more than five (5) days prior to a training session will be refunded the registration fee they or their agency paid for the cancelled training session.

Registrants who cancel five (5) or fewer working days prior to the first day of the training session will not be refunded the registration fee they or their agency paid for the session or will be billed for the registration fee if the NEW Partnership has not yet received the registration fee. However, the registrant will not be charged if they can arrange for someone from their same agency to register and attend in their place. Please inform the NEW Partnership of the substitution prior to the training session by calling 920-465-2724.

Registrants who transfer to another training session five (5) or fewer working days prior to the first day of the training session will be treated as a cancellation and the registrant remains responsible for paying the registration fee.

Will I recieve a certificate of attendance?

No, you will not receive a certificate of attendance.

Social Workers are required under MPSW 8.02(3) to "retain original documents showing attendance at programs and completion of self-developed programs for at least 4 years from the time that credit is claimed for the continuing education program. At the request of the section, credential holders shall deliver their original documents to the section."

It is the individual worker's responsibility to keep track of any training they receive while employed by the county agency and to provide proof of attendance to the Department of Regulation and Licensing in case of an audit. Workers should retain their training confirmation letters, all training materials and training agendas which indicate date/time, location, and the trainer's name. Your supervisor receives quarterly reports of training hours completed through NEW Partnership. NEW Partnership retains the original sign-in sheets should it become necessary to verify attendance for audit purposes.
