PreReq - Access Preservice Web based Module and Safety Preservice Web based Module

Prior to training, please complete the Pre-Training Activity and bring the required documents listed below. You likely have a copy of these documents in your office. If not, use the links to print your own copy.

Pre-Training Activity: Complete or review Access Pre-Service Training (web-based) on Wisconsin Child Welfare Professional Development System website. It is estimated that the training will take less than 20 minutes. You can click “GO” at the bottom of the webpage to access the module directly- skip Step 1. *Note: The Access Pre-Service will link you to the Safety Standards with Appendices. The Standards have not changed, however Appendix 1 and 6 are the old versions. Use the links below to obtain the most recent version if you do not have it.

Advanced Workshop on Termination of Parental Rights

The trainer requests that you:

  • Dress as you would for a court appearance for both days
  • Come prepared to discuss one of your own TPR cases

Attendance and Missed Training Days Policy applies to this training: As a reminder, you must attend all three days of the training or make up the entire session. This policy is in effect for NEW and Behavioral Health Training Partnerships for this training.

This training builds knowledge and skills across all three days. There are numerous skills-practice activities that rely not only on you being present to apply the learned knowledge and practice the skills and techniques, but are dependent on developing trust and cooperation to be able to fully participate and provide effective feedback to your colleagues. The trainers will expect that all participants have completed this training as it will be referenced throughout the training.

Pre-Training Activity: Complete the Initial Assessment Pre-Service training module (web-based) on the Wisconsin Child Welfare Professional Development System website, if you have not done so.

Click on the “Pre-Service” link, scroll to the bottom of the page and click on the “Go” button. Click on "Initial Assessment" to begin the Pre-service Module. Be sure to turn on your speakers. It is estimated that the training will take 70-90 minutes.

Safety in Child Protective Services
PreReq - Preservice Web based Module

Prior to training, you are required to complete the Safety Pre-Service training module (web-based) on the Wisconsin Child Welfare Professional Development System website.

You can access the training with the following link: http://www.wcwts.wisc.edu/caseworker-training/

Click on the “Pre-Service” link, scroll to the bottom of the page and click on the “Go” button. Click on "Safety" to begin the Safety Pre-service Module. Be sure to turn on your speakers. There are four sections in the Safety module. It is estimated that the training will take 2-4 hours.

It is essential that you complete Safety Pre-Service prior to the training. The trainers will assume you have a solid understanding of these safety concepts, and Safety in Child Protective Services training will build upon this knowledge. Having you complete the “basics” through web-based training allow them to focus on more complex concepts and application in training. You do not need to reply back that you have completed it.
