In order to register for training sessions, please click on the button below to go to the Wisconsin Child Welfare Professional Development System (WCWPDS) website to access PDS Online. Once you reach the WCWPDS website, you will click on the “PDS Online Go” button in order to login and register for pre-service, foundation and special skills/topics training sessions.  Once you reach the PDS Online system, you will be able to search training sessions  by title or locator number.  A locator number is identified below for each training session to streamline your search process on PDS Online.  Complete instructions for logging in and registering for training sessions are available on the WCWPDS website via the button below.

DESCRIPTION : The NEW Partnership and the Behavioral Health Training Partnership are partnering to present Collaborative Teaming in Human Services. In this training participants will explore the underlying values of the collaborative teaming process and learn how through collaborative teaming, professional and natural supports come together to prevent crises and reduce the out-of-home placements and hospitalizations when situations begin to escalate. Participants will gain knowledge of the team process, collaborative crisis planning, and begin to practice team facilitation skills.

COURSE OBJECTIVES:

  • Understand the foundation of team practice

  • Understand the foundation of crisis practice

  • Learn to engage consumers and natural supports in the team process

  • Learn the essentials of developing the team

  • Understand the team process; including role and responsibilities, team decision making, and common team facilitation challenges

  • Demonstrate and develop team facilitation skills

  • Learn the elements of crisis prevention and planning as a team

  • Understand and prepare for transitions throughout the team process

TARGET AUDIENCE: This training is appropriate for child welfare (child protection services and juvenile justice), behavioral health, and other human services professionals who want to increase their knowledge and skills around collaborative teaming. The training is designed to have a mix of child welfare and behavioral health professionals participants.
