Wisconsin Technology Enhanced Collaborative Nursing Education Grant The Professional Program in Nursing is participating in a federally funded Wisconsin Technology Enhanced Collaborative Nursing Education grant. This grant will improve and increase the use of technology and informatics in nursing education. The five University of Wisconsin Nursing Programs - Oshkosh, Eau Claire, Milwaukee, Madison, and Green Bay are participating. Cultural Assessment Activity UW-Green Bay students and community members were invited to participate in an end of the semester cultural assessment activity that took place in Dr. Mimi Kubsch's Theoretical Foundations course. First generation immigrants of diverse culture were represented from the Phillipines, China, East & West Germany, Mexico, and Japan. There were also representatives from Afro-American, Native American, and Jewish American groups who were interviewed. The interviews were structured using Geiger and Davidhizar's cultural assessment criteria. Ethnic foods from the countries represented made the evening festive. Students in the class learned first-hand how people from diverse cultures would like nurses to provide culturally congruent care.
