Program Overview
Government officials may earn the Certificate in Public Management Essentials (PME) from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay (UWGB) Extension Governmental Affairs through their professional association, agency, municipality or county as the sponsoring organization of the PME certificate program.
A sponsoring organization signs an agreement with UWGB to provide this management certificate to their employees or members. For example, a county or municipality may decide to co-sponsor the PME certificate for its department heads or supervisory employees. A professional association may select to co-sponsor the certificate for its membership.
The University of Wisconsin-Green
Bay is offering this comprehensive certificate to assure all government officers
and management employees in Wisconsin have the opportunity to learn the basic
skills needed to be an effective public manager. The intent is to provide a
comprehensive management certificate that is widely recognized
