E-learning is the use of network technologies to create, foster, deliver and facilitate learning any time, any where.
Objective: Using the eight dimensions of the Flexible Framework for E-learning, scholars will be challenged to enhance their knowledge and understanding of
E-learning as well as evaluate their design and delivery methods in online courses and programs.
Keynote Speakers:
Dr. Badrul H. Khan, PhD
International and Cultural Perspectives in E-learning
President and founder of McWeadon Education, a world-renowned educator, author, speaker and consultant in the field of e-learning and distance learning. He has authored and coauthored 11 books/manuals and over 100 papers. He has delivered keynote speeches at more than 50 international e-learning and distance learning conferences. Dr. Badrul H. Khan is a leading expert in e-learning and blended-learning design and implementation.
Dr. Diane J. Skiba, PhD, FAAN, FACMI
Emerging Technologies in Nursing Practice and E-learning
Professor of Health Care Informatics, University of Colorado in Denver and the author of “Emerging Technologies.”
Dr. Skiba has taught nursing informatics for the past 29 years and is a columnist on emerging technology for NLN’s Nursing Educational Perspectives journal. Dr. Skiba advises the United States Congress and Health and Human Services Department as a member of the National Advisory Council on Nurse Education and Practice (NACNEP). She is a coordinator for two HRSA technology and informatics grants focusing on informatics, telehealth, simulations and other emerging educational technologies.
Dr. Patricia Flately Brennan, PhD, MSN, RN
Reflections and Sustainability of Technology Enhanced Nursing Education
Professor in the Departments of Biostatistics and Medical Informatics, Nursing, and Industrial and Systems Engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Dr. Brennan is the Principal Investigator for the HRSA grant: Wisconsin Technology Enhanced Collaborative Nursing Education (WI TECNE) and leads the project to improve the integration of informatics and telehealth into nursing curricula. She is the National Program Director for the Project HealthDesign and theme leader of the Living Environments Laboratory at the Wisconsin Institutes for Discovery.
