Education: B.A., Economic Geography (1992), Moscow State University; M.A., Political Science (1995), Appalachian State University; Ph.D., Political Science (2004), Western Michigan University. 

Fields of interest:  Comparative politics, international relations, Russian and Eastern European politics, theories of social change, comparative political ideologies, intellectuals and society, qualitative research methods.

Current Research: Linkages between the public and elites in post-communist nations of Eastern Europe; democratization and public attitudes; content analysis of elite value orientations.

Courses:  Foundations for Social Research, Foreign and Defense Policies, Comparative Politics, Global Politics and Society.
