About the Pep Band

The Phoenix Pep Band is an organization that prepares music before the basketball season and then spends the season playing at games for the Green Bay Phoenix basketball teams.  Enrollment is open to any UW-Green Bay student who plays a musical instrument and wants to join the band.

Purpose

The main purpose of the band is to energize the basketball teams on their way to victory. The band is known for the atmosphere it creates at games.  From the classic songs and songs from today, to the coordinated group movements, to the cheering and chanting - we love to help our teams win!

Membership & How to Join

The band is comprised of non-music majors and music majors alike.  Anyone is welcome to join!  If you play a musical instrument and like basketball, we'd love to have you join Pep Band!  If you want to join, just send an email to the director: hansene@uwgb.edu.  It's a great way to meet new friends, see some great basketball, and have a blast playing fun music!

Guidelines

To view the guidelines for proper conduct at games, visit the compliance page on the UW-Green Bay Athletics website.

Tournaments

Tournament time (a.k.a. "March Madness") means possible travel for the band. At the end of each season the band travels with the basketball teams for the conference tournament games, and hopefully to the NCAA Tournament in mid-March.

Pep Band Boosters

The PPB is the UW-Green Bay student organization that supports the Phoenix Pep Band.  It was started in January of 2007.
