PHUTURE PHOENIX AWARDS/HONORS

Replication of Phuture Phoenix

Phuture Phoenix has been successfully replicated at two institutions of higher education. The first was the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, called BluGold Beginnings. This project was conducted as a part of the Wisconsin College Access Challenge Grant sponsored in part by Great Lakes Higher Education Guaranty Corporation. In May of 2010, over 1,000 5th graders participated in the campus field trip day at UW-Eau Claire.

In 2010, Phuture Phoenix was transported to Western Washington University by Cyndie Shepard, co-founder of Phuture Phoenix. The program is called Compass2Campus in Bellingham, WA and continues to serve high-risk students building college awareness in the state of Washington.

Also in 2010, Phuture Phoenix received another Wisconsin College Access Challenge Grant sponsored in part by Great Lakes Higher Education Guaranty Corporation to replicate the program at a third site, Silver Lake College, in Manitowoc, WI.

2009 Wisconsin College Access Challenge Grant

Phuture Phoenix was selected in spring of 2009 for replication on another college campus through funding provided by the Wisconsin College Access Challenge Grant and the Great Lakes Higher Education Guaranty Corporation.
