Field Trip Day Information
The following procedures will need to be completed to ensure that our Phuture Phoenix Day runs smoothly.
Field Trip Day
Please have your students ready to load the buses as soon as they arrive at school and have attendance taken.
You will receive a listing of your groups that have been numbered for tours on Phuture Phoenix day. Please have students enter the buses by group number, so that they may exit ready to meet their role model pairs. The role models will be holding numbers for your students to see so that finding each other will be simplified.
If you are sharing a bus with another school, please have children stay together in their groups on the bus by school so that exiting the bus will be more organized.
Please review proper behavior and field trip etiquette before students arrive at UW-Green Bay. Also, please tell students that we cannot accommodate backpacks, books, large purses, etc. during the tour. Please leave these articles at home or at school during the field trip.
We have prepared a literacy card which we have designed to accommodate 5th grade learning standards. Each child will receive a card from his/her role model, and assistance completing it during the tour. You are welcome to use the card as part of your student portfolio or discard them as you wish. Please encourage your students to complete them with their mentors so that those who choose to keep them may have completed cards at the end of the day at UWGB.
Arrival and Pickup Instructions
We are pleased your students will be attending the events on Phuture Phoenix Day. Please share the following information with your bus drivers prior to your arrival on the UW-Green Bay campus.
- Please arrive at the Weidner Center between 9:00 and 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, or between 9:30 and 10 a.m. on Thursday. Buses should enter at the University's Main Entrance, and proceed to the Weidner Center Front Entrance. All buses from your school should unload at the Front Entrance of the Weidner Center. Please remain on your bus until a Phuture Phoenix Volunteer informs you when to unload.
- As your students are unloading from the bus, they will be meeting their student role models from UW-Green Bay. The student role models and volunteers will escort them to their seats inside Cofrin Family Hall. The program is scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday and 10:00 a.m. on Thursday. After unloading, buses will park in the Weidner Center lot and remain in that location for the day.
- At the end of Phuture Phoenix Day, students will be escorted to their busses in the Weidner Center lot.
We look forward to your arrival on Phuture Phoenix Day!
After Field Trip
Please talk to your students about their experiences on campus and encourage their questions regarding their future education. Phuture Phoenix has designed a program to continue interaction with your students from 5th grade through 12th grade.
