The Professional Studies
The Professional Studies programs at UW-Green Bay include Business, Teacher Education, Social Work, and Nursing. The Dean of Professional and Graduate Studies is the academic leader and chief administrative officer for these programs and the consortial graduate programs in Business, Social Work, Environmental Science Policy and Teacher Education.
MISSION and Emphasis for Activities for Professional Studies
The professional programs offer interdisciplinary, problem focused undergraduate and graduate programs that implement the educational philosophy of the Green Bay Idea. The mission of Professional and Graduate Studies is to provide a high quality undergraduate and graduate education and professional development for students that prepares them for the professions of business, education, nursing and social work and serve the educational and professional development needs of the region.
We are committed to:
- improve student learning;
- engage students in active, applied learning experiences;
- provide high quality undergraduate and select graduate programs;
- prepare well-educated graduates who achieve the standards of their respective professions and meet the needs of their employers;
- extend our academic resources to northeastern Wisconsin through continuing education programs and services;
- collaborate with the liberal arts and sciences programs at UW-Green Bay;
- form partnerships with community businesses, agencies and organizations;
- form partnerships with other institutions, including UW institutions, the PK- 1 2 schools, Wisconsin technical colleges, the College of the Menominee Nation and private higher education institutions;
- find reward systems for faculty that continuously improve faculty performance;
- encourage faculty to engage in relevant, applied research that will inform teaching and assist the region; and
- improve the diversity in faculty, staff, and students.
