Research Council

Have an Idea? We Can Help.

The University of Wisconsin Green Bay Research Council (RC) began supporting faculty through internal funding in 1994 as an effort to enhance the ability of the university to realize its potential for distinction in research, creative, and scholarly activities in all fields of study. The Council is charged with supporting and enhancing faculty research and is advisory to the Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs. Faculty members on the Council are appointed by the Provost and represent the various scholarly areas of the university. The Research Council serves the following functions:

  • Provides recommendations regarding UW-Green Bay and UW System funded grant programs to support the research and other scholarly activities of the faculty.
  • Organizes and supports activities related to the dissemination of research results and other scholarly activities conducted by the faculty.
  • Advises the Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs or their designee on issues related to the promotion and support of research and other scholarly activities of the faculty.

Past Grant Recipients

"I used the GIAR grant funding to support my participation in an international exhibition in Korea which was held 4/27 - 5/22, 2012. My membership with the Korean Contemporary Ceramic Artist Association allowed me to attain opportunities to participate in exhibitions in Korea (2012) and France (2013). The grant amount helped build pedestals and crates, and ship the work internationally."
