Grant in Aid of Research

Final Report: "The Grant in Aid of Research award I received was used to assess the molecular mechanisms by which PCB 102 induces breast cancer cell proliferation. The funds provided by the Research Council were used to buy media, serum, and supplies necessary for culturing the breast cancer cells. We found that PCB 102 induced cell proliferation was completely blocked by an estrogen receptor-selective antagonist; thus our results indicate that PCB 102 acts as an estrogen mimic and induces cell proliferation via the estrogen receptor. I would like to thank the Research Council for supporting my research."
