"Completing Music for Shakespeare's Songs Restored"

Grant in Aid of Research

Final Report: "For several years I have been working with early music editor and performer Lawrence Lipnik to collaboratively create historical reconstructions of some 17 songs from Shakespeare’s plays. These are all versions that probably were performed on Shakespeare’s stage for first productions. At long last, the project is complete!! We have reconstructed all of these songs. Specifically, as indicated in my proposal, the $759 was paid to Lawrence Lipnik. The songs have been used in a number of scholarly articles and book chapters. However, better yet, as of Sept. 9, 2014, I have a book contract with Ashgate for the final project. I certainly could have not done this without numerous grants from the Research Council. Thank you!"
