Final Report: "In August I received a grant of $2700 from the US Embassy in Bratislava, Slovakia, and coached the songs listed below with Robert Pechanec, Slovak pianist, and also attended the Moravian Masterclass in the Czech Republic for 4 days. The $400 I received from the Research Council, Spring 2012, was used for the fees for this Moravian Masterclass (specifically August 18th – August 22nd) where I coached the vocal music of Czech composer, Antonin Dvorak with Mirka Zemanova, Czech diction specialist and Tim Cheek, pianist/coach, U. of Michigan and my pianist for my February recital. (I was in Slovakia and CR from August 9-24th, 2012.) This was invaluable for me as it is extremely difficult to learn the correct diction for this number of songs without help from a diction specialist. I had the opportunity to work with TWO Czech diction specialists. This was extremely helpful and beneficial."
